The HAPI film presents a snapshot of economic history spanning from the dawn of civilization to today. The underlying theme of the film is the interrelationship between the three essential components of economics, politics and culture. Economics plays a fundamental role in life. Any system or government has to have as its foundation economics, which is complimented by politics and then politics and economics are meaningfully put together by culture. Economics is a major factor in the development of any culture, any civilization, any nation, any empire and any institution. This film strives to promote economic empowerment through economic literacy.
The aim of the film is to spread economic literacy and thus create dialogue that will lead otherwise economic illiterate people to becoming financially astute. One of the main points of the film is coming up with solutions that are obtainable and easily implemented. Additionally, it’s important to note how politics tremendously impacts us economically and the understanding of how they work in conjunction is also a solution. It’s important that this isn’t just a lesson on history and that the content within HAPI is something that we’ll be able to apply to our lives. HAPI is more than just a film it’s a movement of economic literacy.
